Essex Environment Trust is able to provide funding for environmental improvements and community projects within the county of Essex. Its funding is received as contributions from landfill operators, through the Landfill Communities Fund.

The Trust is a registered environmental body, and is a non-profit making company, limited by guarantee. The Trust is not controlled by any local authority, landfill operator or company.
